Visitors into school

Toffee Music came to see us for the last time in July.  They have been visiting us each term for several years and the children have always enjoyed their lovely interactive songs.  Toffee Music are two retired headteachers who perform, for nothing, charge a small fee and send it all to Weston Park Hospital.  They have raised over £50 000.

At the end of May we were lucky to have Johnny from All-Stars Cricket Club in school to lead our assembly and work with our Y2 children. They enjoyed a ‘taster session’ to see if they might like to join the well - established All-Stars Cricket scheme

Over the term we have enjoyed visits from Lisa McNaught who works at Stocksbridge Library. Whilst the library has been closed due to refurbishments, Lisa has visited each year group in school and the children enjoy her activities very much as she links all of her ideas to stories relevant to each year group that run alongside the topics covered in our exciting curriculum. Thank you Lisa!

At the end of April, Zoe Senior came in to talk to the children about being an author.  She shared the process of writing a children’s book and we were lucky enough to have a sneak preview of her new book that she is working on!
